Naomi & Geeshik, I have added the cost of resizing to a size 7.5 by my jeweler to the listing. ($238.61 including tax) That cost will only change if we change the size it's to be sized to. I will be covering the retipping costs for you, and as we discussed the appraisal will accompany the ring. I will also have my jeweler confirm the diamonds as we discussed. Thanks so much!
Offered with free shipping within the US and Canada and with discounted shipping to many other locations...please convo me for details about shipping to other countries!
This is an absolutely beautiful ring from the Art Deco era....it features one of the cleanest and most fiery transitional cut diamonds I've seen in a long time.....it's truly lovely!
Crafted of solid platinum, the ring features 7 old cut diamonds...the largest is the central diamond, approximately 5 mm in diameter and estimated to be approximately .45 carats. It is a very white, bright, clean and fiery stone.....estimated to be H in color and VS1 clarity. (the ring was looked over by a gemologist) It's a very beautiful and extremely high quality diamond! (much whiter and more fiery than I could capture in my photos!)
** The center stone alone was appraised with a value of $1800.00. (the appraisal will accompany the ring, though please note it evaluates only the mounting and center stone...not the side stones. Without the value of the additional side diamonds, the value of the ring was $2300.00. The appraisal also evaluates a diamond band which I did not acquire.) **
The diamond is set into a lovely square setting, approximately 5.5 mm x 5.5 mm and is held in place by the classic Deco "fishtail" prongs. The prongs only show a bit of wear, so are not in desperate need of being retipped....though I would probably do it in the near future just to play it extra safe....this is one diamond to be extra, extra careful with.
On each shoulder are another 3 old cut diamonds...for a total of 6 side stones. They are each approximately 2.3 mm in diameter and look to also be old transitional cut stones...definitely early brilliant cut diamonds...of matching color, clarity and brilliance to the center stone. Some of the prongs on these smaller stones show a bit more wear...so, I would have them retipped soon...they would also be challenging to match due to their old cut and high quality. The face of the ring measure approximately 5.5 x 15mm and the rise off the finger is approximately 4.8 mm....so, it is a nice height for everyday wear.
The band is simple, elegant and still strong. It shows slight indications that it was once sized and just the tiniest bit of thinning. It is still marked for 10% iridium platinum inside the band. (Iridium is a member of the precious platinum family and was added to platinum jewelry of this era to make it harder, stronger and more white in color. It's a premium alloy that is only used by a handful of high end makers today due to it's high cost. I'm always happy to find items with this alloy because they stand the test of time particularly well.) The ring has a total weight of 3.05 grams.
Currently a size 5.5, this ring could be sized by an experienced jeweler who is comfortable working with platinum and older jewelry. (** Please read my policies page for information regarding sizing or feel free to convo me to discuss it or to obtain a quote from my trusted jeweler!)
This is a wonderful and elegant Art Deco ring of very high quality....it would be wonderful as an engagment ring for someone who truly appreciates fine diamonds and classic Deco style.....
