I love the way these hundreds of tiny aluminum roses give this collar such a luxe, sculptural look. The roses have an ombre finish; deep bronze near the collar tips, gradually becoming more silvery towards the ends.
This necklace hangs a bit differently than my other oxford style collars: The collar halves are smaller and lay almost completely flat to the chest, allowing this piece to be a much more versatile everyday necklace.
Every aspect of this collar is made and constructed by hand, from the cutting, shaping, cleaning and finishing of the base metal to the hand placement of more than 300 aluminum roses. Vintage brass chain hangs in the center. Hundreds of hand placed aluminum roses decorate each of the color halves. A vintage brass chain holds the halves together and can adjust anywhere from 16 to 25 inches long, so you can wear it as tightly or as loosely as you like!
The edges of the metal are impeccably buffed and are totally smooth (and no, don't worry, the tips of the collar won't poke you at all!). The collar is modeled to lay perfectly around the curve of the neck and chest, so it is very very comfortable, and very lightweight.
This is a perfect piece for when you want to add a modern yet feminine edge to a cocktail dress, or even just a t-shirt and jeans.
