ITEM: This is a 1950s Wolverine tin toy stove and oven. There are many similar stoves / ovens out there but this one is rare as it has the nursery rhyme characters Little Miss Muffet and Little Jack Horner lithographed on either of the two sides of the oven. The images are still bright, crisp and clear and show Little Miss Muffet sitting on her tuffet with the spider swinging down to share her lunch. The other side shows Little Jack Horner in a sailor suit with his pie on his lap and a plum proudly on his thumb. The right oven door opens but does not stay closed. The inside is very clean. Has 4 faux burners on the stove top. Measures approximately 12" in height at its tallest point, 11" in width and 6.75" in depth. Such a great vintage toy! Perfect for your collection or to display in a nursery!
CONDITION: I try to list every defect. Please look closely at the photos too. This toy has a dent on the lower left back of the base (shown in last photo) - does not affect stability and not noticeable from the front. Has some scratch marks, minor dents and creases in the tin. 3 out of 4 of the red oven dials are missing. The oven door does not stay closed. Small amount of rust on the stove top along with some tarnishing. Lithographed colors throughout still crisp and bright. Overall, I would call this "good condition" since it is approx. 60 years old.
