My latest coffee sack owl is made from a repurposed jute coffee sack. She has the word 'Coffee' printed on her back and various green markings on the rest of her. She's a bit scruffy and a bit rough!
She has vintage buttons on wool felt circles for eyes and a wooden toggle button for a beak. She is stuffed with wadding with a few dried beans in her bottom half enabling her to stand alone (with a bit of bean adjustment!) and to support one or two light books. Nothing too heavy as she only weighs around 15oz but just enough to be useful as well as decorative.
This is the first - and possibly the last - time I have used a light coloured sack like this for my owls and although I like the texture and the way little wisps of sacking, like blonde hair, stick out over the surface, it was stiffer and thus harder to work with than the normal sacks I use so this one might be even more of a 'one off' than usual.
Please do not buy her if you want a neat and tidy owl. She is made from a coffee sack with all the ruffty, tuffty bits that entails and her side seam is sewn up with twine. There are are lot of beautiful, sweet and soft owls on Etsy - she is not one of them but she has her own charm and is a one and only original.
An unusual gift or addition to your bookshelf. Not a 'cutesy' owl so would be suitable for the man in your life too.
She measures approx. 8.5 inches tall (from top of ear) x approx. 5.5 inches wide.

Thanks so much for looking
(My owls are not made with small children in mind and absolutely no safety tests are carried out!)
I'm afraid Blondie cannot fly to Australia or New Zealand - it's too far and your Customs Officers don't like the beans in her bottom.
