About 4" across, in bold red with black edging. I used a vintage pattern, which I altered a bit with a few tweaks of my own. I love doing lace in bold colors - this, obviously, is a pretty extreme case, but I really love the end result!
Hand-crocheted with 100% Egyptian cotton, which has been mercerized to give it some shine! While I wet-block and pin my doilies to refine the shape, I don't starch the life out of them, so they maintain a lovely amount of drape. Though doilies were originally intended to be protective barriers, much like coasters, the bright colors I use could easily let these transition to stand-alone decor objects.
Colors are black and "cardinal" - a rich ruby red, just a tad on the pinkish side of the red spectrum. (While I make every effort to ensure photos are an accurate representation of color, computer monitors do tend to vary in their depiction of exact colors.) The thread is technically machine washable, though I would recommend hand-washing if you need to clean it!
