You are buying: 1 - 38 gauge star point needle (this is a 4 sided needle with an extra corner of barbs for quicker felting - it leaves a smaller hole and is good for all purpose felting) 1 - 38 gauge crown point needle (this only has barbs at the end with one barb on each corner - great for surface work including doll hair rooting, embellishing, soft sculpture and detail work). 1 - 19 gauge triangular point (this heavy duty needle is good for starting off with and also works well for coarser fibers including jute - it has 3 barbs on each edge for a total of 9 barbs).

36-46 Gauge Crown Tip:
It is with one barb on each corner set 1/8" from the tip, for shallow surface work
36 Gauge Triangle Blade Felting Needle:
It is with the large shaft for fast felting, but the large shaft may leave little indentations. It is for deep, fast felting and attaching parts. This is a coarse needle – you don't have to worry about it breaking so when I need to attach a head to a body, this is the needle you reach for.
38 Gauge triangular felting needles:
This is standard needles. It is with a medium sized needle for all-around work.
40-43 Gauge Triangle Blade Felting Needle
It is for general felting. If you had to pick just one needle use, this would be it – it is pierces into your project easily and seems to grab the perfect amount of fiber with each jab. It gives you fine control when sculpting the wool. This is a fine gauge needle and is very sharp and breaks easily. It has the fine shaft for shallow, fine detailing work.
38 Star Blade Felting Needle
It is used for both rough and fine work. The star point has more barbs, pulling more fibers with each punch without leaving large holes. It is for finish and surface felting. It is with less surface area than standard, with an extra corner of barbs, for quicker felting. This has a star shaped blade rather than the typical triangle shaped blade. There are more barbs and the barbs start closer to the tip than the other needles. This makes it perfect for surface details like eyes and for finishing the piece and taming down the fuzzies.
