"Chambray" is a fine, shirt-weight linen fabric woven in Japan, with very fine quality and durable dyed yarns.

Other than garments, it is also suitable for various projects such as curtains, table linens, cushions etc

It is a nice light weight fabric with an extraordinarily high quality, smooth, though subtley textured weave with some thicker slubs in places but with no scratchiness.

It has the opaqueness of a high quality cotton voile.

It has a soft and natural feel.

Content: 100% linen made in Japan.

Condition: Brand new, never used.
This is superb quality fabric that will last the distance. It is NOT at all comparable to the cheap, often rather crassly dyed, scratchy stuff, also called linen that can be bought everywhere for about $7 to $30/m.

The colours are what make this fabric particularly beautiful. These colours are unique and carefully designed to capture what we see in nature. They compliment many of the tones used in the dyes and prints in the traditional Japanese kimono fabrics.
They are very stable and don't fade easily.

1. Ruisseau - a divine french blue interwoven with a hint of green.

4. Ancient Purple - a magnificent reincarnation of the lovely dark taupish purples found in the old kimono silks. It is superb compliment to those silks in garments and soft furnishings.

This simple and lovely creation is by the very talented Japanese designers from LINNET, a company founded in Kyoto, Japan by Satoshi and Mayumi Maeda in 2000. They decribe the company as created by the fusion of architecture, art and design. One can observe in their creations, an immense appreciation of nature, colour and natural fibres, that is also inherent in many of the traditional japanese textiles.

They mainly design & manufacture linen fabric which is woven in Japan by family-run, small linen weaving businesses, with yarn mostly imported from Italy.

You can pay by bank deposit. If you wish to do so, please choose the Other payment option instead of paypal then wait for my message with payment details.
