Wonderful chippy patina with layers of cream, black and white paint. A bit of the original zinc peeks through. Believe top and spring hanger are brass - the only part to which a magnet doesn't adhere.
Unique characteristics:

The imperfect:
Cage and bottom are a bit bent and misshapen.
Bottom hinges are missing so top does not attach.
Some surface rust.
Overall in good, very clean condition ~ amazing for this 140-year-old piece!
Approx. 13" high to top of hanging loop, 13" x 9.5" at base, cage itself has a 31" circumference.
