8 gores of sheer prettiness fitted through the waist, roomy enough in the hips and thighs, and then flared and floaty by the knees and especially hem. Sheer slightly shiny overlay with vertical ruffles in the seams. Lower on the skirt the ruffles are larger and also placed between the seams for extra froth.
Under the sheer layer is an opaque bodice lining and satin underskirt. Underskirt is shaped so it doesn't go between your legs or trip you when you walk. Both layers are longer in the back to create a self-train.
Throughout the bodice, the two layers are well connected so there's no shifting. Around the hips, the layers are separate for nice flow. Light boning in bodice (in the princess seams and side seams), long side zipper, and removable back lacing ribbon.
Label says "Jessica McClintock for Gunne Sax [Size] 3 ". Inside ribbon hangers have trademark Jessica McClintock brand woven into them. Content and Care labels indicates the dress is polyester and should be dry cleaned.
Marked size 3, and fits like it with plenty of length and a hemline not too difficult to shorten
Bust = Flexible size due to ribbon in back. Model is 32" bust and there's plenty of room for more!
Waist = 25"
Hip 8-9" below the waist = 46"
Hem circumference where the skirt is shortest in middle front (i.e., above the train) = 96"
Front length from top edge of bodice to hem of satin underskirt where it's shortest in middle front = 50"
The longest length of the satin underskirt (in the back) = 58"
Sheer overlay is about 5" longer all around the skirt
Model is 32 -24 - 35, 115 lbs, 5' 7", and long in the torso. In other words, a size 3 that's a little light on top and a little long from shoulder to waist.
No tears, shifts, fades, stains, or perfume, etc. A tiny bit of dirt on small sections the hem of the overlay and overlay. It looks like plain dirt. I suspect this dress was bought yet never worn.
