This large golden sea urchin focal bead pierced with a driftwood stick creates a statement all by itself. I envision a talented jewelry maker drilling holes or wire wrapping the driftwood and working the piece into one awesome attention getting necklace, or mixed media or fiber artist incorporating it into their next creation. This piece is one of a kind and displays well all by itself as if just a "found" object of art.

Handmade ceramic first formed with stoneware clay, then painstakingly manipulated into a hollow asymetrical urchin form, pierced with a driftwood stick and finally finished with hand applied spine nubs.

Glaze is a combination of an earthy golden yellow with ivory and some very light pink.
The urchin form measures approx 2 3/8" diameter, with a top to bottom thickness of almost 1" (varies due to asymetrical form) and the total span from end to end of the stick is approx. 4 7/8".
