This model is from 1969 (labeled on the back), and was made by The Syracuse Ornamental Company, or SYROCO. Syroco pieces from this era are highly collectable, and featured the then revolutionary Metalgold, where (as they put it) "... real metal is deposited on the object and toned and shaded by skilled hand operations." Their products were a combination of wood and plastic, and are suprisingly lightweight for their size.
The clock itself keeps great time. You can hear a light ticking sound, but none of their models featured a second hand. This looks great with any decor, modern or Mid Century.
