This is a small, miniature vintage porcelain art plate with the artwork of William Steig, famous cartoonist/artist for The New Yorker, starting in 1930, he died in 2003. This plate is most likely from the 1950's/60's period. It has a really crazy skeleton man on the front with a quirky title underneath "These Ailments Are Purely Psychic". It is in good condition, no chips or cracks, there are two tiny black spots in the front of the plate from the firing/making of the plate, as can be seen in my main picture. Otherwise, it's ready to add to any W. Steig collection!
It measures approx. 4 in. diameter.
