Of all the breeds of dog that I love, I have to say the Cairn Terrier is at the top of the list. This piece has sold, but I can do one similar for the collector or dog owner who loves this breed also. All wool and as cute as the original.
I am owned by a spunky Cairn named Bailey and what an adventure he is. Cairn Terriers are both high maintenance and dogs to marvel at. They are fast, smiling, evasive, game players, manipulators, stubborn, passionate, and absolutely beautiful. They are the alter ego of the Westie, and they are really a special breed, close to the earth and to doggy instincts. They are a throwback to earlier times.
A Cairn Terrier interacts with the family much like a little person would. They rarely looked well groomed because their life is just full of adventure.
This piece stands 4 inches at the withers and is 5 1/2 inches in length from front to hind quarters. She measures 3 inches across the chest. I mixed 3 different colors of fiber to get the wheaten color. This gives life to the coat and the different fibers approximated the actual fur of a Cairn.
