The good stuff: I believe these fine bookends were made by Hubley c1925. These same bookends , albeit painted, are featured in the Kuritzky book ("Guide to Collectible Bookends" - they are on page 113 of this authoritative book). Kuritzky rates their rarity as 4 on a scale of 1 to 5.
The better stuff is they belonged to my mother, a great reader, bibliophile and collector of bookends. I am hoping someone will be charmed and will enjoy having them, using them and will admire them and so they are listed here at a price which is half of what I have seen them sell for. They need a new home.
These fine bookends are in very nice condition with a nice darkened and aged gold patina.
Whether you enjoy, hunting, dogs in general or just books and reading I think these ouwl be a fine addition to your home.
Dimensions: Each measures approximately 5" wide x 5" tall and 2" in depth and are nicely weighted at just under 4 pounds..
This handsome pair will come to you via the USPS, with tracking and insurance and will be well packaged for the trip. Thanks for stopping by to have a look.
