Thimbles were given as love tokens in Victorian times when gifts of any type were discouraged between men and women. Peter Pan and Wendy exchanged thimbles and acorn buttons as kisses. In American Colonial times when items of jewelry were prohibited for moral reasons a thimble was the gift from a fiance to his future bride as a symbol of love and pledge of eternal togetherness. When she married the women removed the bottom of the thimble to form more of a wedding ring. With such a long history of thimbles as a tender gesture of affection I have created a series of one of a kind thimble necklaces.

The solid sterling silver vintage thimble has a sweet almost heart shaped detail around the base. I have paired it with an acorn crafted of a natural deep chocolate fresh water pearl. The two hang from a charm ring on a sparkling 20" chain that closes with a simple clasp and is accented with my signature 2" extender/back dangle with a puffed heart. All metal elements in this piece are solid sterling silver. Sparkling kisses for you or your love!
