Sweet examples of the influence of the spaceship/nuclear age/atomic era, these three look like something out of a Sellafield Sizewell B nuclear reactor graphic - or a row of little sputnik spaceships docked at the spaceport!
The salt, pepper and lidded mustard are all pleasing pot-bellied, matching round forms seated in an oval tray with lug handles.
They are glazed a bright canary yellow and decorated with broad bands of deep navy blue finely striped with a grid of vertical and horizontal lines.
The mustard lid has a notch for a spoon, and the salt and pepper pots have their original bungs.
The bases are marked with the Secla, Portugal, backstamp.
The pieces are all in very good condition with no damage - there is some fine crazing on the tray which has picked up a little staining in one or two places, but this hardly notices.
They measure about 6 cm/2.5" high and the tray is 23 cm/9" by 7.5 cm/3" - the set weighs 415 gms, and the estimated packaged weight is 800 gms.
