Perfect vintage accent for bridal, prom, formal or everyday attire!
Featuring both shiny and matte finish vintage plastic pearlized white beads
Embellished with gold tone cages, filigree end caps, and Lucite crystals decorated with tiny faux pearls
Fastens with a simple hook clasp which grabs a bead in an opposite dangling strand. This clasp is normally only found in vintage necklaces, although a hook that inserts into a ring on the strand opposite was also used post vintage. The hook on this necklace is signed JAPAN.
Necklaces signed JAPAN made after WWII when large quantities of jewelry were produced inexpensively. Due to the circumstances of war, most of this jewelry was made by highly talented impoverished artisans. Although it was often thought of as “cheap” jewelry during the times in which it was produced, today it is recognized for its high quality features as the majority of these necklaces were hand strung with high quality materials using creative one of a kind designs.
This necklace is in very nice vintage previously loved condition. There are occasional subtle signs of age expected wear which include tiny occasional scuffing and bubbles to the beads, darkening of the tiny metal fasteners at the ends and to the tiny spacers between some of the beads. These were noted when examining closely---I don’t believe that a casual observer would be likely to notice.
The shorter strand of beads measures approximately 16 inches long. The longer bead strand is approximately 17 inches long. The strand that is caught by the hook to fasten the necklace is approximately 2 ½ inches long. (Please measure carefully as I cannot accept returns due to sizing.)
A lovely vintage addition to your special occasion or wedding attire!
