If you`re having a beach wedding, consider a silk sarong or pareo to stand out during fun times on the beach with your guests after the ceremony!
This piece has been traditionally waxed on thick satin silk with a bronze Sarawakian Tjanting before being hand painted.
After drying, all my batiks are set with textile fixer, then double boiled and ironed to ensure color steadfastness and long-term durability.
To give your Silk Batik a long and happy life, please look after it carefully with these tips and hints and a bit of common sense:
- Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
- Use cold water rather than warm or hot.
- Silk is a natural fibre like hair, as such you may find that a little shampoo will be gentler and give your batik a lustrous, shiny glow as opposed to using harsh detergents.
My Silk Pareos measure approximately 83" x 45" (211 x 114 cm). Perfect for a hot summer`s day around the neck or bust, or an elegant evening out as an eye catching streamlined skirt. Else convo me to custom order it as a piece of cloth without the hem that you can have tailored to create your own fabulous Silk Batik dress as modeled here! (To have it sewn as a long dress, you would need at least 4 meters, or be very petite!
The luxury of colorful silk batik always makes for pleasantly surprising, exceptionally creative and very welcome gifts!
