Vintage Picnic Basket with Blue and Yellow Antique China Mosaics

This piece is one of my favorites!! I came across this old vintage picnic basket at an outdoor antique fair last year. It dates back to the 50's. I painted it a soft sun-kissed yellow and tiled the top with Mikasa's Parisienne china, which is a blue and yellow floral. I used a vintage blue chenille for the lining. The fabric was pre-washed for shrinkage and is completely removeable for washing in case you should spill wine or food inside the basket. I added satin ribbon ties to the top and a yellow butterfly for a whimsical touch! It measures 18 3/4" x 10" and stands 12" high. It's so sunny and bright and perfect for that romatic picnic with your special someone!
