How do you know it's real crystal? Wet the rim of the glass & with an equally wet finger, go around the glass rapidly. The crystal will sing to you (with a high pitched ring). Or if you flip the rim of the glass lightly with your finger, you can hear a tone resonate. That's how you know it's real crystal.
These glasses are not dishwasher safe, but should be lightly rinsed in warm (not hot) soapy water and turned upside down to dry on a paper towel and they should last you until your 50th anniversary and then some.
