I've had the idea for this piece in my sketchbook for sometime - and she turned out better than I imagined. As a collector of many various found objects, I try to find meaning in my collections and let them inform me as to what a piece may be about. This one sort of created itself - since light bulbs have long been a metaphor for ideas, I thought a collection of burned out bulbs could become a metaphor for bad ideas. And we all have those from time to time...

Her body is hand-carved from basswood and her head is sculpted from polymer clay. I even made all the clothes, as I have for my figures for some 7 years now. It took a while to collect all the burned-out light bulbs.
She stands on a vintage tin, that sort of matches her apron.

She measures 5" x 14.5" x 5"
Note - she is permanently mounted to the base.

Signed and dated.
