This beautiful, unique clutch was made from a 1940's girl silk kimono. It has a beautiful large flower placed perfectly on the front over a peachy/ coral with an additional hint of orange background (the third picture is the best representation). I used a cotton turquoise bird and branch patterned lining and tied it all together with a silver kisslock frame with a 14 inch chain.
This clutch measures at 8 inches, top to bottom and 9 inches at the widest part. Perfect size to hold all your essentials.
I use a super thick fusible lining with all my kimono clutches that will keep it's shape even without anything in the bag. I do this to ensures that you don't have that "floppy pocket" look of other clutches and while keeping items from sticking out in odd shapes when filled. I also double stitch all of my bags to give it that extra quality that will make the bag last a lifetime.
Also, please note, that because the fabric is vintage, there may be some minor flaws on the fabric, that I have carefully taken into consideration in the making of the clutch. It does not take away from the over all appearance of the bag.
***Each of my clutches come with a pretty dust bag to keep it nice and clean when not in use, but is also perfect for gift giving. Also, if this is a birthday gift and you'd like for me to send a birthday card on your behalf, please let me know at checkout!
Can you imagine all the things this beautiful fabric has seen? Would you love to own a piece of Asian history that has been made into something modern and fresh?
Since I started to make these, I have noticed many couture designers are now using them in their bags as well!
So why not also carry that special fabric for that holiday party or special night out?
