Approximately 1.5 ounces (42.5 grams) and 57 yards (52 meters) of luxurious, handspun tencel. Tencel is a natural, vegan fiber made from wood pulp cellulose (see description below). This skein was hand-dyed to a luminous pale yellow that shines like gold! Because this is a handspun yarn, it does not have a uniform thickness like machine-made yarns, but it is approximately the thickness of undivided embroidery floss, 18+ wpi. It may be used for knitting, crocheting, weaving, macramé, etc.
"TENCEL®, made from wood pulp cellulose, offers a unique combination of the most desirable properties of man made and natural fibers: soft as silk, strong as polyester, cool as linen, warm as wool and as absorbent as cotton. TENCEL® absorbs excess liquid and quickly releases it again into the atmosphere.
The combination of a smooth fiber surface and excellent moisture absorption creates a positive environment for healthy skin, making TENCEL® ideal for anyone with sensitive skin. Also, TENCEL® is chemical free, an important factor for sensitive skin and another asset in comparison to other fibers of a natural origin."
This skein can be wound into a center-pull ball prior to shipment at no extra charge, just leave a note at check-out.
