ABOUT PICASSO JASPER:
A Brief History:
While Picasso Jasper's eruption onto the commercial stage is fairly recent, Zuni tribes have long held this gemstone in high regard. It's been used to carve Zuni fetishes, and served as an important spiritual tool for Shamans who used it in healing Body and Spirit.
Identifiable by its striking and dramatic combination of browns, blacks, charcoal-grays and creams, Picasso Jasper is not actually a jasper at all but a form of metamorphic marble, composed of crystallized Limestone, Dolomite and Calcite. It is also known as "Picasso Marble" and "Picasso Stone", however, over the years "Picasso Jasper" has become the most recognizable trade name. Picasso Jasper started out as sedimentary limestone in the Precambrian era, originally composed of millions of tiny creatures living in the sea, shedding their shells. It then came into contact with masses of hot magma which altered the limestone under heat and pressure. Rich in minerals, powered by the intense energy of its heat, the magma filled cracks, crevices and weak spots in the porous limestone. As the "canvas" cooled, a visual dance of lines, angles and colors across the limestone revealed the artistic genius of Mother Nature. This process has been repeated countless times over many millennia as the Earth evolved, causing feathery lines and beautiful designs, such as in these gorgeous tumbled specimens from Beaver County, Utah.
Transformation - The Power to Reinvent Ourselves
Metamorphosis is one of the three ways stones are formed (the other two are: igneous and sedimentary). Geologically, a metamorphic stone forms deep in the Earth and its essential nature is altered by heat and pressure. As described above, tt undergoes metamorphosis multiple times as the Earth evolves, and each time new elements are added to its composition. Only those aspects of the stone which are impermeable to pressure and heat are preserved. This stone's structure alone reminds us that we too, have the power to reinvent ourselves and be reborn refreshed at the time when we might be at crossroads in our lives. In its healing capacity, Picasso Jasper is also used in treating and alleviating the symptoms of PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), and has been very successful in reducing anxiety and stress
The picturesque patterns in Picasso Jasper could be seen as maps of the stone's transformational path. It could be regarded as an important helper for those who wish to consciously transform with ease and comfort. Picasso Jasper has also been used for achieving higher dimensional work during channeling.
Relationships - Attract Positive People Into Your Life
Resembling a beautiful abstract painting, Picasso Jasper is sometimes called "The Painted Stone", an amazing original work of art by Mother Nature. The patterns occur naturally due to the presence of iron and manganese oxide dendrites. Dendrites are the tree branch-like formations crystallizing within limestone. Metaphysically, these symbolize growth and change. Thanks to the brush stroke-like inclusions of manganese and this mineral's ability to bring people closer together, Picasso Jasper can activate the energies of cooperation in group efforts. Manganese is also said to stimulate spontaneity, creativity and enhance positive energy. It produces a grounding effect which can help to balance the emotions and the physical body.

Communication and Expression
Picasso Jasper is a stone of all forms of communication: from speech, writing, artistic expression, through inner and outer thought, to Divine inspiration and channeling. This is an excellent stone for free-thinking and quiet contemplation, whereby random flashes of clear insight and inspirations may occur. It is especially beneficial for those of us who have are prone to "mulling things over" in excess. Although Picasso Jasper has a strong connection to the Earth, it also resonates with the Cosmos and with Galactic energies - perhaps this is one reason why many of the great temples, ziggurats, megaliths and ancient centers of learning were constructed or paved with metamorphic limestone, resulting in adjusting the resonance of the place to enhance and ease such connections with "other" sources of knowledge. Ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans understood the energy of transformation which is contained within limestone and metamorphic marble stones, such as Picasso Jasper. Metamorphic limestone was used in the building of the Egyptian pyramids, while many other ancient cultures and civilizations (including Sumerian, Babylonian, East-Asian and Mesoamerican) also utilized it in the construction of sacred structures.
Picasso Jasper has been called "The Master of the Subconscious Mind" and has been known to support channeling, intuition, visioning and stimulate the power of foresight through precognitive dreams. It aids Shamans and Lightworkers with Earth healing and shields against negative entities. The inclusions of Manganese in Picasso Jasper act as a bridge, building a connection between the conscious self and the Angelic realm. It opens the Galactic Chakra (part of the 4th & 5th dimensional chakra system) for contact with positive other-planetary beings, acting as their aid and receiver while it grounds one to Earth. This stone further helps to bring the light and guidance of Spirit Guides, Angels and Light Beings from other dimensions or planets into our soul and assists in bringing the energies of inter-galactic intelligence to our Earth. Through this connection, our subconscious and intuitive minds can become more and more a part of our physical being. With its ability to ground and center us, it is also a wonderful tool for balancing our day-to-day existence in this lifetime. Placing Picasso Jasper on the Throat Chakra is said to stimulate creative energies, aid in overcoming current life challenges, facilitate communication (especially when expressing oneself about difficult feelings or situations), achieve inner harmony, and enhance the ability to receive Divine insight and guidance. Picasso Jasper also helps us to attain peak states of meditation, assists with dream work, and has been known to enhance dream recall. It brings clarity to our intuition and inner guidance in order to help us to understand and learn from other beings. It is often used by Shamans to discover the cause of past life imbalances.
