This is a painting I did many years ago after growing Foxglove in my garden for the very first time.
The painting is mostly black & white with some colour. After the initial stage of drawing the flower and roughing in the basic colour I decided it was finished. It had a fresh loose quality that I liked with the pencil marks & canvas showing through. It feels more like a watercolour and I liked that less labored quality about it.
Painted in oil on canvas.
12x24inches and slightly under an inch thick.
Signed & dated on back & ready to hang.
Sides are white canvas.
Not Framed.
