Vintage 1930s satin wedding gown. Stunning gown! The woman I bought this from said her mother wore it to her wedding in 1938. Made of a fluid white 'damask' type satin fabric that has a small 4-point flower pattern in the shiny weave. The gown has a high jewel neckline that is draped slightly as well as long sleeves with puffed/ruched shoulders which are very flattering. The sleeve cuffs end in points and there is a row of 10 buttons on each wrist. A few of these can be left open to accommodate differing wrist sizes. This is also true of the buttons at the neckline. The bodice fastens up the back with a row of '32' self-covered buttons and loops which run from the neck all the way to the lower back. All are original and intact and it took me 10 minutes just to fasten them all up! Quite a feature. The bias cut skirt is floor length has a 20 inch train in the back. There is a loop in the train which can be attached to a back button and this will lift the train off the floor for dancing The loop can also by draped over a finger. Amazing find and in pristine condition for a 75 year old gown.

APPROX MEASUREMENTS (in inches)
Bust: 33
Waist: 27
Shoulder to shoulder: 11.5
Hips: free
Length: 59 and train is 20 inches longer then length of gown

CONDITION OF ITEM: Excellent. This gown is in almost mint condition and was stored since worn in 1938. The only flaws I could find were one small frayed hole in the skirt which can barely be seen in folds of dress and the fact that the seams on the inside of the dress (and unseen) have frayed a little. Seams are still very sturdy. The rolled hem on the inside bottom of the dress is also frayed in areas, but this can easily be remedied by either the trimming the frays or rolling the hem again by a few mms. No marks or stains that I could find at all which is amazing. Sold AS IS.
