This Dark Blue Tiger butterfly was fluttering around the Butterfly Pavilion at the US National Museum of Natural History. I painted its delicately colored wings with dark brown and light blue accents, as it sits gently on a stem of bright pink milkweed flowers amid a variegated background of sage green.
