The decor of the late 50s included all kinds of items known as Blackamoor - lamps, wall plaques, and jewelry! This set of scatter pins is from the late 50s to early 60s genre. The faces have an oriental style suggesting that perhaps these were brought back from Siam. (There are no markings)
The pair are of a man and woman with a large hat and/or crown. The finding is goldtone plated with rich red accents in enamel paint accenting the black faces. The cherry red beads are glass beads. Each is accented with little costume pearls for a collar.
Man head is 1 1/2 inches long. Woman head is 1 3/4 inches. There is a tiny scratch in the black paint on her face. Both are in very pretty, collectible condition.
