"La Môme Piaf" is a very special necklace. I have been collecting the components for this exquisite composition for many months in anticipation of a design that would truly herald the arrival of spring! The focal point of the lovely "La Môme Piaf" is a vintage Art Deco sparrow pavé set with dazzling rhinestones and a tiny black spinel eye. The bird hangs from a "Y" necklace format to give the impression of flight and is hand-linked within a chain of faceted London blue topaz rondelles, faceted white topaz rondelles, tiny akoya pearls, and faceted pyrite rondelles. The center link of this "Y" shape is beautifully constructed around a single, stunning peach-ivory akoya saltwater pearl that has been hand-link with bright gold-fill wire to compliment the bright fine silver and dark oxidized sterling silver used for the remaining construction of the necklace. The "La Môme Piaf" was designed to be asymmetrical and I have used the following to create an organic, free-form neckline that is truly bohémienne in nature: Large, gray Japanese saltwater keishi pearls, a few random clusters of faceted London blue topaz, faceted white topaz rondelles, tiny white akoya pearls, and one small section of two large faceted pyrite rondelles surrounding a single faceted hot pink sapphire rondelle for an unexpected "pop" of color. This one of a kind necklace closes with a rose gold clasp.
Neckline (not including pearl and "Y"drop): 16 inches long
"Y" drop and Pearl: 3.5 inches (to the bottom of the sparrow)
