Piece is signed, dated and numbered. Entirely done with hand tools this functional piece of art features a steam bent white oak handle held in place with black walnut tusks. The handle was carefully split (riven) out of a 30 inch section of white oak and steamed for several hours before being bent to shape. The side boards are positioned so the viewer is able to read the label on the bottles and dovetailed into the end boards for strength. A hand carved flower has been placed atop of each end piece for visual interest. Each element is hand carved out of native Michigan hardwoods for beauty and durability. Holds up to 6 bottles of wine. Dimensions are 13 1/4 inches tall, 19 inches total handle length, box length 16.5 inches, 9.5 inches wide at widest point. Finished in Walnut Danish Oil.
