The crystal clear eco resin magnifies the beautiful patterns in the lichen and moss. This wide ring has lots of little rounded diamond facets in the face. The face and sides of the ring are shiny and reflective, while the top and bottom are smoothed to a contrasting matte surface. Please note that on the top and bottom, some of the lichen has been exposed as part of the finishing process.
My sister and I made this ring in our studio by casting the resin into a handmade silicone mould. The eco resin was left to cure for 10 days, then we sanded with over 10 grades of sandpaper and finished with polishing tools.
We proudly make all our jewellery from California-based Entropy Resin`s eco resin - a product that has been certified by the USDA as a biobased product. Unlike most resins that use petroleum-based products, this eco resin uses bio-derived materials such as pine oils derived from waste-streams of other manufacturing products.
