This little pressed glass box was made by Dithridge. It is a beautiful blue color... reminds me of cerulean. I love the ornate scrolling around the outside of the base and top of the lid. This case was meant to sit on a dresser and hold gloves in the Victorian era. I think it would be a great jewelry box or pencil case.
The case is in excellent condition - no chips, cracks or scratches. Some of the edges are a little rough, but this is common of pressed glass. The inside is clean. At one time I believe the outside of this box was painted (maybe gold-leafed) but there is only a trace amount of paint left. This case is unmarked, but after doing research I found that it was made by Dithridge.
