I liked the sign I did for my shop banner so well that I thought other folks might like it too. Just don't ask me what kind of sea creature the "S" is supposed to be. It looks like -- in a moment of wild abandon -- a fish got a little too cozy with an eel and 9 months later (or whatever fish gestation time is), this was the result. Her mom should have warned her about those long, dark strangers!
Hang the letters on the wall or just lean them. Separate hangers are included, so if you decide to go the leaning route, just toss them in your junk drawer and use them to hang something else. (If you can find them again.)
I carefully cut the letters out with a scroll saw from half inch plywood and haphazardly painted them to have a distressed "been hanging outside on the porch for the last 40 years" look. I sanded them just enough to keep you from getting splinters without diluting the nice, rustic texture of the wood. I used an exterior latex paint, but if you really are going to hang them in the sun and rain, let me know in the message area and I'll add a coat of sealer for no extra charge.
