They grow on the bottom of the lake, where the gentle sway of the currents help to form their unique round shape. They grow very slowly (less than 1/4 inch per year) and only require low light and occasional water changes to thrive...couldn't be easier!
We have taken a regular vanity light bulb and carefully removed all of the insides to create a re-purposed micro aquarium for your marimo! Cool enough on it's own, and only made cooler by the addition of a handmade, live-edge, wooden slab base. As pioneers of this design on etsy, we have been fine tuning our light bulbs for over a year now to ensure that each micro-aquarium is at once beautiful and sustainable. All of the elements have been carefully considered in order to create a new, unique design every time the water is changed! No need to worry about disturbing anything...simple, elegant and all kinds of fun!
Each micro-aquarium will be sent with all of the elements seen in the picture individually packed, with assembly and care instructions included.
Please note: The bases will vary, as no two pieces of wood are the same.
