This listing is for an 11 inch x 14 inch fabric woodblock print. The earliest form of woodblock printing was done on fabric, and the oldest examples from China date back to before 220 BCE.
I first slowly hand carved my original illustration into a wood block. Then, I inked to block with non-toxic, archival and high quality ink before I hand pressed it into the cotton fabric. The art is heat set to protect it from any damage. (Each print may vary slightly due to the handmade process, but that's what makes it cool, right?) I then hemmed the fabric with a zigzag stitch and made loops for the Birch wood dowels. Each print also comes with natural waxed cotton tied on and ready to hang! This style of hanging holds a rustic and unique charm close to my heart.
The last image is a list of colors that the whale is available in :) If you prefer a different color, just put it in the "note to seller" box at check out. If no color is specified, a turquoise one will be sent. Colors may vary slightly due to monitor settings.
