The Sierra Redwood Collection comes thanks to my neighbor here in Murphys, Ca. He has a 110 foot tall Sierra Redwood in his yard that is reminiscent of the giants at our local Big Trees National Park. Giant Redwoods are the worlds largest trees in terms of total volume. They grow to an average height of 160 to 280 feet!
Due to some nasty weather a few branches have cracked off the main trunk and are hanging down putting his house and children at risk. So together we safely removed the branches and as you can see they have made great pieces for yet another lovely addition to RockAppleWood.
All collection pieces display the unique redish purple coloring that makes up the xylem and heartwood with lighter beige color on the exterior underneath the fibrous red bark.
This piece has been brought through 2 sanding steps, 4 cutting steps and natural cure time of 11 months. From powerful machine sanders to fine hand sanding and polishing. This dock has been coated with a combination of beeswax, carnauba wax, and orange oil. This enhances the natural beauty and depth of grain in finished woods. This blend prevents further drying of the wood and deterioration of the finish
This piece comes with two 6 foot USB cords that will sync or charge all iPhones, iPods, and iPads.
