This listing is for a set of three (3) food safe kitchen utensils: two spoons and one spatula. The smaller spoon measures 10" (25.4cm) tall, and the tall spoon and spatula both measure 12" (30.5cm) tall.
Each utensil is left unfinished, as they are meant to be used. However, if you prefer, I can coat them in a water-based varnish.
The design will be hand-drawn directly onto the spoon, then burned in using a pyrography pen. Though I will strive to make each spoon "perfect," please remember that they are all hand-burned, and allow for small variations in the execution of the design.
oOo. Care of Your Spoons .oOo.
All wooden spoons wear down naturally with use. You are welcome to cook with them if you like, but treat them with care: hand wash them only, do not let them soak in water, and every now and then rub them over with a light coating of olive oil to help preserve them.
.oOo. About the design .oOo.
This design is based on the middle eastern art of henna application, called mendhi. This particular style is sometimes referred to as "sangeet." "Sangeet," which can be translated literally as "sung together," usually refers to the ladies' night party of a Hindu wedding. Traditionally, the bride's hands and feet are decorated with henna, and the patterns can be particularly lacy and feminine.
