During the earlier part of the last century children were treated to little pulp paper mache containers full of tiny candies at Christmas time. The containers were made in a variety of shapes and sizes but many were simply a figure with a removable paper cover on the base. A child removed the cover, enjoyed the candy and the figure was retained as a toy or Christmas decoration.
He stands 4 1/2 inches tall. Paint wear is visible in photos.
