The 'Hostess' pattern features sprays of roses, peonies and primroses and is accented by gold bands in both narrow and "lacework" styles. An additional small nosegay of flowers decorates the inside bottom of each cup. A very dainty set!

CUP SIZE: 2.25" tall x 2.5" diameter across the flared top (approx 5.5 cm x 6 cm)
SAUCER SIZE: 4.5" diameter (approx 11.5 cm)
SAUCER DETAILS: All saucers have excellent decoration color and gilding. None of them have any chips, cracks, crazing or stains. Blacklight exam shows no evidence of repair on any saucer. One saucer has five tiny bumps beneath the glaze in the white center portion, from time of manufacture. Any small spots seen on the pattern are accidental bits of decoration also from time of manufacture.
CUP DETAILS: Differences in condition of each of the five cups is noted below.
Cup #1: No chips, cracks, crazing or stains. Blacklight exam shows no evidence of repair. Gilding very good except for one portion of the accent line along handle.
Cup #2: No chips, cracks, crazing or stains. Blacklight exam shows no evidence of repair. Gilding very good exccept for the accent line along one side of the handle.
Cup #3: No cracks, crazing or stains. Blacklight exam shows no evidence of repair. Gilt condition very good. One chip on bottom edge.
Cup #4: No cracks, crazing, or stains. Blacklight exam shows no evidence of repair. The gilt accent line along the handle exhibits some wear. One dark spot on the inside of cup beneath glaze. One small chip on rim.
Cup #5: No chips, cracks or crazing. Blacklight exam shows no evidence of repair. A few small spots of gilt from time of manufacture. Staining along the top exterior edge, probably due to the glaze having been applied too thinly because the glaze surface in these areas is slightly rougher than the rest of the cup.
