This unconventional teapot started as a wheel-thrown form which I closed and trapped air inside. It holds approx 12+ oz (1 large cup or two small cups of tea). The spout has a built in sieve so you can brew loose leaf or bagged tea. There are beautiful details at the top of the lid which were inspired from acorn tops and other natural elements. The lid was hand cut in a keyed pattern to help keep it in position when pouring. However, since this is an unconventional teapot I recommend putting your index finger on the top of the knob which has a sweet little indent. Overall it is a lovely light blue celedon with gorgeous crazing. I used an oxide on the areas where I imprinted the pattern detail to enhance the texture on the lid and at the top and base of the handle as well as the rim of the spout. Much prettier in person than the photos.
Do not use on an open flame. Your teapot is meant for brewing and steeping and it is microwave and dishwasher safe.
