Are you a nostalgic bride to be who would love to wear her mother's or grandmother's gown down the aisle but can't due to storage damage and other condition issues? Don't throw it in the trash!! I can take any poorly stored vintage gown and turn it into a meaningful wedding bouquet that will add a very special touch to your special day. Better yet, this bouquet will become a memorable keepsake that can be further passed down in the family. It is a wonderful way to preserve a special part of your family history.
In designing this bouquet I spent countless hours researching millinery techniques originating in France well over 100 years ago. Each flower in this sample bouquet is made by hand from from the fabric of a 1940's slipper satin wedding gown; shaped petal by petal, no two flowers are identical. Our blooms are hand sewn with glass pearls, Swarovski crystals and or genuine fresh water pearls. Each flower is hand wired and assembled into a stunning floral arrangement that will be wrapped in additional fabric from the gown. Each bouquet takes approximately 70 hours of work to create, so please order at least two months in advance.
Once your dress arrives, I will fully steam and display it on my vintage dress form and take 5 photos of it from various angles. These will be emailed to you at the completion of your bouquet so that they may be kept with the bouquet as a reminder of the beauty of the dress.
**Please note that this listing is for a service and not a pre-made product. However, I do have a collection of damaged antique and vintage gowns that I can use to design your bouquet if you're lacking a dress.
I am a proud member of the Vintage Fashion Guild and take great pride in preserving fashion history. I will only work with gowns that are in disrepair. As I have a great respect for vintage clothing I will not cut any gown that is in wearable condition, couture or of historical interest.
Gowns that are eligible for this service will have one or many of the following issues: Underarm staining, stains, discolorations, mildew, rips, tear, shattering of the fabric, water damage, insect damage, etc. I can work with pretty much anything. Fabrics that works best are rayon, cotton, and silk.
If you're interested, please convo me and let's discuss your historical bouquet!
