Claire's Garden Soap was inspired by Diana Gabaldon's heroine from The Outlander series of books. After travelling back in time to 18th century Scotland, Claire puts her contemporary medical training and botanical knowledge to use to become a healer to those around her. This rustic soap is made with olive oil that has been infused with comfrey, a plant that Claire found very useful. Rhassoul clay represents the earth from which she gathered her plants. A good dash of honey since Claire herself understood the healing power of honey. Scented with a fresh belnd of rosemary, sage and orange essential oils.
OLIVE OIL acts as a humectant, drawing moisture to the skin, and creates a protective layer, holding in moisture without clogging the skin.
COCONUT OIL creates an oily protective barrier on the skin and is great for dry,itchy skin.
CASTOR OIL acts as a humectant, drawing moisture from the air into your skin. It is easily absorbed by the skin, making it an excellent skin softener and conditioner.
SWEET ALMOND OIL contains vitamins A,B,D and E and is rich in fatty acids and proteins. It is helpful in the treatment of eczema and psoriasis.
COMFREY -- Comfrey contains the compound allantoin which hastens skin regeneration. It is also effective in the treatment of eczema and dermatitis.
HONEY is a humectant, naturally drawing moisture from the air to your skin. Its natural antioxidants neutralize free radicals which can damage the skin, allowing the cells to regenerate. As an antibacterial and antifungal agent, it helps disinfect and speed the healing process of skin injuries.
Ingredients: palm oil, coconut oil, comfrey-infused olive oil, castor oil, sunflower oil, sweet almond oil, lye (sodium hydroxide), water, Rhassoul clay, honey, orange, rosemary and sage essential oils.
*Each batch of Claire's soap is made by hand, my hand, using the hot process method of soap making. I do not use any chemical preservatives. The colours of my soaps are due to the natural ingredients I have used rather than synthetic colourings. I scent my soaps with natural essential oils, no synthetic fragrance oils.
*My handmade soaps contain no harsh detergents or sulfates and are biodegradable.
*Each bar of soap is hand cut and weighs between 130-150 grams (4.5 - 5 ounces).
