Cat tested ~ Cat Approved!
For over a year, I had tried to make a cat toy that could hold up to my cat, Pedro's aggressive play ~ a toy that I believe in ~ one that I would feel confident that it was durable enough to make it worthy of selling. After more than five failed attempts, I learned what worked and what didn't, and I finally succeeded! This mouse is similar to the one Raku is playing with in the third photo. After weeks of being tossed around, chewed on, clawed at, and drowned, Raku's mouse is holding up strong. Thanks to my Raku's mom for sending me these photos of Raku!
One mouse cat toy, needle felted wool and bright color yarn.
The wool body of the mouse is very tightly needle felted. The crocheted ears and macramé knotted front paws are made of the same strands of yarn, and the braided tail and macramé knotted hind paws are made of the same strands of yarn, thus, the appendages are very securely attached through the body. The thread whiskers are knotted and threaded back and forth through the body, so they are also securely attached. Though the mouse is sold without any catnip treatment, catnip spray can safely be applied to the wool.
Measurements: The body of the mouse is 1 inch wide and approximately 2 1/2 inches long from nose to the tip of the tail (the tail is about 1 inch long).
Each of Pedro's cat toy mice is one of a kind. Mice shown in the fifth photograph may be available in this shop. Special requests for specific colors are welcome.
