This is a Vintage Ronson Mastercase combination cigarette case and lighter. Made in Newark, New Jersey from 1933 for almost 20 years. The Mastercase is a combination of a lighter and a cigarette case which holds 14 filterless cigarettes. This one, with the New Standard fitment, is a pre WW II model.
This Mastercase is shiny chrome with sleek black enamel on the front and back. On the front there are three stripes of cream enamel giving this case a great art deco look. The engraving plate on the front has been inscribed with the initials " L P R". The inside is a two toned silver color, with 2 spring loaded metal plates to hold the cigarettes in place. The spring loaded plates are not as strong as they once were.
This lighter is being sold in used condition. As you can see from the pictures it has some surface scratches from use. There is one small ding in the front of this lighter. The back is scuffed and missing some enamel.
This case lighter has a brand new flint, it sparks great, it just needs to be filled with fluid.
A wonderful addition to your collection or as gift.
