This listing is for one 6x5 glass fishbowl aquarium with one giant Marimo and two Marimo Nano (see second picture please!) Ships as a kit which is easy and fun to assemble. The kit includes a piece of sea fan as well as shells, pebbles, and sand.

The giant Marimo is approximately 2" in diameter. The growth rate of a Marimo is only about 5mm per year. Therefore, a giant Marimo is about 7 years old. Marimo Nano is between
10-15mm.
It is said that they can live for up to 200 years, which makes them an ideal family heirloom.

Marimo grow in cold tap water. Water change is only required every one to two weeks (more frequently in summer and less in winter). They thrive in low light conditions.

They are pretty hardy therefore, this decorative small aquarium will beautify your home indefinitely. Care is also as easy as it gets. The perfect present for the busy urbanite.

Something magical about these little balls of algae with their gentle spherical form and lush green color at times with pearls of air bubbles. Watching little Marimo float rewards one with a sense of tranquility.......a balm to heal your soul.

Marimo, literally “ball seaweed”, also known as Japanese Moss Ball, is a rare species of green algae, growing into large green balls with a velvety appearance and are found naturally in a number of lakes in the world. The round shape of the Marimo is maintained by gentle wave action.

In Japan at Lake Akan a great effort is spent on the conservation of the lake balls. In 1920 they were declared a Japanese Natural Treasure and in 1950 the first of the annual Marimo Festival was celebrated.

They are compared to the Earth in being green and round and in their need to rotate in order to receive light on all sides.

The Japanese believe that Marimo will bring good luck and see it as a symbol of everlasting love. It is also said that taking excellent care of your pet Marimo will make all your wishes come true....

A fantastic gift, maybe for a friend who could use some extra luck these days!
