FAVA BEANS - Ancestor Offerings - Spirit Offerings - Italian Witchcraft - Certified Organic
Within Italian Witchcraft, fava beans are a traditional offering to ancestor spirits and deities. They were used in ancient Roman funeral rites, and used since ancient times as offerings to appease nature spirits (in some Italian traditions, nature spirits were believed to be ancestors). Fava beans are also incorporated into Shadowfest (Samhain) and All Souls' Day festivities by way of soups, breads, and other culinary offerings. Every year on Shadowfest during our "dumb supper", a special fava bean soup is served ~ made with a recipe that was passed down through many generations of Sicilian Witch families.

Whatever your magickal tradition, offering fava beans to your ancestral spirits as a means of thanks and remembrance is a lovely and ancient way to honor them at any time of the year.

*This listing is for 13 fava beans ~ these beans are certified organic and were grown and harvested right here in the US. Only the finest wild-harvested and organic products are offered here in my apothecary.
