The wood for this coat rack was once part of a dock on the intracoastal waterway in North Carolina that was destroyed in Hurricane Irene. The pieces have been salvaged and contain original nail holes, markings, and the occassional rusty hardware that gives the wood wonderful character.
These boat cleats are mounted vertically, but I can mount them horizontally if you prefer. (For a photo of that option, check out my other listing at http://www.etsy.com/listing/87888245/reclaimed-wood-towelcoat-rack-with-boat). The last 2 pictures on this listing show the option of a white-wash finish to the wood, which I can do if you request it with your order. Otherwise, the wood will be unfinished and natural. Your coat rack will look like the ones pictured, but because they are all made to order, it will differ slightly from the photos depending on the nature of the wood. This rack measures approximately 18" x5.5" x1.5". It has 2 D-rings in the back for hanging along with 2 screws and anchors.
This makes a great gift. It's great for a beach house, kid's room, a mud room, a bathroom, or outdoor shower area. I can make this in any custom length to fit your wall, so if you have a request for a different size, send me a message, and I can give you a price estimate.
A portion of my sales from my reclaimed wood items goes towards hurricane relief efforts in coastal communities. I appreciate the opportunity to make a unique piece for you while helping others.
