This high luster tencel combed top has been hand dyed in peacock blue, dark green, and a coppery shade of burnt orange. Tencel is a cellulose fiber made from extruded wood pulp. It is an economical alternative to cultivated silk and you can use it in similar ways. You may spin it directly as a fine thread for embroidery or kumihimo braiding, add it when nuno felting for a touch of shine or as is most often done - blend it with other fibers you intend to spin. Tencel is often added in the textile industry to improve the performance of wool.
