The eighth issue of The La-La Theory is finally finished! This one's all about handwriting. I collected a number of handwritten stories from people who stopped by my installation in an art show last year, and then wrote an essay about the idea of writing by hand versus typing on a machine. I quoted liberally from personal heroine Lynda Barry. I reminisced about Catholic grade school. I photocopied the signatures of my great grandparents that I found in the back of an old book my mother has. Stuff like that. I think it's a good little read.
The zine is 48 pages long plus the cover, and half-size (8.5 x 5.5 inches).
The artist Mardou, who is my pal, made the beautiful collage on the cover.
