This collar is made with four layers of 100% cotton fabric and four layers of interfacing. It features a heavy duty welded D ring and a lightweight plastic buckle.
This dog collar is MADE TO ORDER and the available sizes are as follows:
XXS - up to 10"
XS - 8-13"
S - 10-15"
M - 12-20"
L - 15-25"
XL - 18-30"
The available widths are: 1/2", 3/4", and 1". When you order specify both your collar SIZE and WIDTH. If you do not, the XXS and XS will automatically be 1/2", the S 3/4", and the M-XL will be 1".
How do you take your dog's neck measurement? Take your dog's current collar and lie it flat and then measure it. Then figure out what collar your dog's neck size fits into! One thing is - if you have a younger dog, and they're at the tail end of one collar, go ahead and order the size up! The sizes do overlap, after all.
Why cotton and not nylon? Nylon is indeed more durable than cotton as it is a synthetic blend of materials but nylon takes longer to biodegrade and if burned, it releases a pollutant. With general wear and tear, a cotton collar will last just as long as a nylon collar and then once it is no longer usable, it doesn't take up a landfill for upwards of 40 years. Instead it takes just a few months!
Naturally, no collar lasts forever. Check your dog's collar regularly for wear for his safety and your peace of mind!
